The Serb will take a short break after draining Wimbledon final loss to Alcaraz
Novak Djokovic will not participate in the Toronto Masters next month due to fatigue, the organizers announced.
The world No.2 lost an epic 5-set thriller at the Wimbledon final against Carlos Alcaraz and will need more time to recover.
Christopher Eubanks will taker the Joker’s place in the main draw.
“I have always enjoyed my time in Canada but after speaking with my team we believe this is the right decision to take,” said Djokovic.
“I would like to thank Karl Hale, the tournament director, for understanding this decision.”
Djokovic has been triumphant at the Toronto Masters 5 times before, but he will be unable to add another trophy to his collection.
The tournament kicks off on August 7.
