Clayton Kershaw has announced that he will not play any longer after the end of this campaign, which will mark his 18th season with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The MLB franchise revealed Clayton’s decision today, as on Friday, it will be his final regular-season home start.
“We at the Dodgers want to congratulate Kershaw on his phenomenal career in the MLB and to thank him for the amazing moments with our shirt as he made the supporters of our team and overall the fans of the game all over the world happy,” LA owner Mark Walter shared. “Clayton has a legendary career, and I have no doubt that he will be part of the Hall of Fame.”
He triumphed with an MVP and 3 National League Cy Young Awards during his time with the Dodgers, and nobody has any doubts that Kershaw will be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. At the beginning of the year, Clayton became the 20th pitcher in the history of 3,000 strikeouts.
Kershaw’s 18 years with Los Angeles are evened with Bill Russell and Hall of Famer Zack Wheat for most in the Dodgers’ history.
Thank you, Clayton Kershaw 👏
