The Jacksonville Jaguars-Miami Dolphins preseason match ended with almost 9 minutes remaining after Miami’s receiver Daewood Davis was carted off after suffering an injury.
Jacksonville was leading 31-18 when the match was stopped.
Daewood (24) went to the field after being struck by Jaguars LB Dequan Jackson. He was lying down while medical staff rapidly entered the field to treat him.
Both franchises’ managers, Mike McDaniel and Doug Pederson, spoke with the referees before the match was called off.
“Obviously, not anything you want to happen,” Jacksonville QB Trevor Lawrence shared. “A tough situation. We all love to play and to see a player go down like that … I know we’re all wishing him a speedy recovery.”
