Borussia Dortmund’s confidence ahead of next week’s Champions League clash with Paris Saint-Germain is high after they showed character on Saturday to pull off a 4-2 win over Freiburg in the Bundesliga in the dying minutes.
“I wouldn’t say that this team is showing its 100 percent right now. I even guarantee that it is capable of a lot more. But the good thing is that we took a step forward.”, said their sporting director Sebastian Kell.
Last year’s Bundesliga runners-up squandered their early lead, trailing 1-2 at one point, but managed to score three goals in a row after the break to celebrate a comfortable win.
“We were aware even before the match that we had to deal with Freiburg. We did things very well as a final result, but definitely as football on the field, our possibilities are much more serious”.
Borussia Dortmund look to take the momentum to Paris when PSG visit Group F, which also includes England’s Newcastle and AC Milan. Kell said he wants “his team to have a really good performance in the French capital to show how ready they are for the challenge in this tough group.
