Canada Soccer GS Earl Cochrane gave his consent to leave. He was general secretary for almost a year.
Earl’s resignation came weeks ahead of Canada Soccer’s yearly general meeting. This year will have a ballot to be selected as an Interim replacement for the ex-president Nick Bontis, who quit in February.
The two choices are the current interim president, Charmaine Crooks, and the ex-Canada Soccer board member, Rob Newman. The winner will be the president of the federation until 2024.

Cochrane was appointed in July 2022 as Peter Montopoli’s replacement. Before that, Earl worked for Canada Soccer for 11 years and became general secretary after Peter resigned to go to work for the World Cup 2026 organizing panel.
