The Oilers will keep the player.

The Edmonton Oilers reported that defenceman Phil Kemp inked a 2-year, 2-way extension deal today.

He will get 775,000 dollars per campaign in the NHL.

The Canadian franchise drafted Phil in the 7th round in the 2017 NHL Draft. However, Kemp still doesn’t play in the National Hockey League, as he was part of the franchise’s AHL affiliate Bakersfield Condors in the last 3 years.

Phil played in 71 matches this past campaign, notching 6 goals and giving 15 assists. He also was part of 2 playoff contests.

Kemp was part of the USA’s silver medal-winning team at the 2019 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship in Canada.
