The Edmonton Oilers loaned Philip Broberg to the AHL’s Bakersfield Condors today as talks continue to swirl around his future with the franchise.
Edmonton GM Ken Holland denied today that the defenceman agent had been given the green light by the organization to search for a new team for his client.
“This situation reflects both my and my client’s frustration with Edmonton. I’m actively collaborating with the Oilers general manager to address and resolve the issue as soon as possible.”
Broberg was out of the franchise’s lineup again for yesterday’s 6-1 win against the Carolina Hurricanes, having been on the ice for the last time on November 22nd.
Ben Gleason replaced Philip in the Oilers squad for the team’s upcoming matches in the National Hockey League.
Broberg was picked 8th overall by Edmonton at the 2019 NHL Draft. The defenceman has 2 goals and 9 assists in 79 matches with Edmonton.
