Australia came back in the 2nd half when Samantha Kerr scored in the 63rd minute to tie the match but only 8 minutes later, England got the lead again. Alessia Russo Lauren Hemp scored 2-1 in the 71st minute.
In the game’s final minutes, the host nation tried everything to tie the match, but that left them exposed in the defense. Alessia Russo decided everything with her goal from a counterattack in the 86th minute after Lauren Hemp’s assist.
England will play against Spain at the Women’s World Cup final on Sunday in Australia and try to lift the trophy for the 1st time in its history.
