England have defeated Ukraine 2-0 in their second game of the Euro 2024 qualifiers on Sunday.
Harry Kane opened the scoring for the Three Lions in the 37th minute after a brilliant combination with Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka.
Saka himself followed it up with an unbelievable strike just three minutes later. The 21-year old, who had shined throughout the whole first half, curled a wonderful long-range shot from outside the box into the top left corner, beyond goalkeeper Trubin’s reach and made it 2-0 before half-time.
England didn’t start that well, but stepped on the gas and materialized pretty much all of their goalscoring chances to give themselves a comfortable margin over their opponent.
The second half was primarily quiet with the England team settling and protecting the scoreline. The Ukrainians looked dangerous down the left flank, but overall lacked the edge to seriously threaten Pickford’s goal.
With this victory, England begin their Euro 2024 qualifications in a promising fashion and are currently leading the group with six points out of possible six.
