Luis Enrique names Spain’s World Cup squad

De Gea, Ramos and Thiago were not included in the squad

Spain coach Luis Enrique included seven Barcelona players, including young stars Ansu Fati and Gavi, in his squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Manchester United keeper David de Gea, Paris Saint-Germain’s Sergio Ramos and Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara were left out of the squad.

Spain, who will compete at their 12th consecutive World Cup, have been drawn against Germany, Japan and Costa Rica in the group stage.

Spain’s 26-man squad list for the 2022 World Cup:

Goalkeepers: Unai Simon, Roberto Sanchez, David Raya.

Defenders: Dani Carvajal, Cesar Azpilicueta, Aymeric Laporte, Eric Garcia, Pau Torres, Hugo Guillamon, Jordi Alba and Jose Gaya.

Midfielders: Sergio Busquets, Rodri, Koke, Marcos Llorente, Gavi, Pedri and Carlos Soler.

Forwards: Alvaro Morata, Marco Asensio, Ferran Torres, Dani Olmo, Pablo Sarabia, Nico Williams, Yeremy Pino and Ansu Fati.
