Christian Eriksen will make his Premier League return against Everton on Saturday, announced Manchester United head-coach Erik Ten Hag.
The 31-year old made a surprise return to training this week ahead of schedule, as he was ruled out until the end of April and Ten Hag indeed confirmed the Dane will be available for United’s clash against Everton at Old Trafford.
Eriksen was sidelined with damaged ankle ligaments following a ruthless tackle from Reading’s Andy Carroll on January 28.
Manager Ten Hag was full of praise for Eriksen’s early comeback and once again criticized Carroll for his ‘reckless’ tackle.
‘The good news is Christian Eriksen is back in training and he will be back in the squad tomorrow,’ said Ten Hag at his weekly press conference.
‘I think it was not for nothing that I was so angry about that bad tackle. We first feared we had lost him for the whole season, but he worked really well and the medical department did very well.
‘He’s returning to the squad and is available for the final stages of the season, so we are very pleased with that. It was a really bad tackle and a really bad injury, it’s settled and now we are very happy with that.’
The only downside for United is the absence of Luke Shaw, who limped home before half time in the game against Brentford. Ten Hag gave little detail about his injury, describing it as ‘private matter’.
