This year’s Wimbledon sensation, American Christopher Eubanks, produced one of the big surprises of the Grand Slam tournament, knocking out No. 5 Stefanos Tsitsipas in the round of 16 after 3:6, 7:6(4), 3:6, 6:4, 6:4 in a match that lasted just over three hours.
In the first set, Tsitsipas made two breaks to win it easily 6:3. Eubanks didn’t have a chance to break in the second set, but managed to win the tiebreak 7:4 to level the score.

In the third set, Tsitsipas once again made two breaks to reach win 6:3 and stay just one away from the win, but Eubanks saved the best for the end.
The ninth game proved pivotal in the fourth set, with Eubanks getting her first break of the match to take a 5-4 lead before closing out the set 6-4 to tie the score.
The decisive fifth set began with an early break by Eubanks, who at that moment was having his best streak in the game and he led 1:0. Tsitsipas managed to return the break and level the score at 3:3, but immediately after that another break followed by the American tennis player, who led 4:3. Eubanks served to win the match, having to fend off two break points, but was eventually able to win the match 6-4 in the fifth set.
