Everton decided to appeal against the red card shown to Dominic Calvert-Lewin in yesterday’s 0-0 draw in the FA Cup 3rd round against Crystal Palace.
The forward faces a 3-match suspension after receiving a red card for the 1st time in his career.
The England striker had his studs up in a challenge with Nathaniel Clyne and clipped the Eagles player’s shin with small contact.
The Toffees announced that they have “notified the FA” of their choice to appeal.
Official Chris Kavanagh originally took no action, but after VAR called him to watch the episode again, he decided to show a red card to Dominic in the 79th minute.
“I don’t understand what that [monitor] is there for,” shared the Toffees head coach Sean Dyche following after the match.
“Every supporter must have asked himself, ‘What is the point?’ We all know what would have happened; they will agree with everything they’re being told.”
