“Over a 3-day hearing in March, the independent Commission heard evidence and arguments from Everton in regard to a range of potential mitigating factors why they breached the rule with 16.6 million pounds, featuring the impact of its 2 straight PSR charges,” the EPL shared today.
The commission added that they decided to dock 2 points for another breach of the club.
With 2 fewer points, the Toffees dropped 1 place in the standings to 16th, only 2 points ahead of the relegation zone.
The Premier League side already shared with the supporters that they will appeal the penalty and started the procedure to do so. Everton were 1st docked 10 points earlier this season, but after an appeal, the penalty dropped to 6 points.
