“Litvínov was the number 1 choice for me. I could continue my career elsewhere, but I preferred Verva. I wanted to participate with my brother, and I also wanted to be closer to home,” the forward shared on social media. “I was motivated by the opportunity to take the leader role in the team and help the organization to progress.”
A 7th-round selection of the Anaheim Ducks in the 2014 NHL Draft, Ondrej scored 57 goals and earned 124 points in 258 matches in the National Hockey League with Anaheim, Boston, Toronto, and Carolina.
