The amateur competition in California was shortened to 54 holes
Former Tottenham Hotspur and Real Madrid star Gareth Bale impressed on his PGA Tour debut, finishing in joint-16th place at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am after missing out on the final round because of strong winds in California.
The amateur competition, which sees a number of celebrity players compete alongside some of the world’s top golfers, was shortened to 54 holes and ex-Wales international Bale and playing partner Joseph Bramlett ended on 16 under.
Bale, who announced his retirement from soccer in January, made a swift switch from his glittering soccer career into following his passion for golf.
