Formula 1 has announced the results of the traditional drivers’ vote, where competitors in the World Championship rank each other based on their performance throughout the season.
This marks the sixth edition of the ranking, and there is no surprise at the top – the three-time world champion Max Verstappen claims the top spot according to his fellow drivers for the 2023 season.
Completing the top 3 are Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso. Hamilton’s second place, a seven-time world champion, might be considered surprising when looking solely at the results, as he hasn’t secured a victory this year, but he did manage to secure the third position in the overall standings.
Alonso is the driver ranked third, showing the most progress during the season compared to 2022. The two-time world champion demonstrates at the age of 42 that he has not lost his ambition and can once again compete at the top of the rankings.
