Chelsea and Nottingham Forest have both been charged by the Football Association (FA) for failing to control their players after a mass confrontation during their Premier League match at Stamford Bridge, which ended 1-1. The clash occurred towards the end of the game, sparked when Forest’s Neco Williams appeared to push Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella off the pitch.

Although Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson seemed to slap Forest’s Morato during the altercation, no further action will be taken against him, as the incident was reviewed by the video assistant referee (VAR) at the time.
The FA’s statement reads: “It’s alleged that both clubs failed to ensure their players didn’t behave in an improper and/or provocative way around the 88th minute.” Both clubs have until Thursday to respond to the charges.
Three players were booked following the clash, including Williams for Forest and Chelsea’s Cucurella and Levi Colwill. Chelsea also face an automatic £50,000 fine, having received six or more bookings in the match, marking the second time this season they have incurred this penalty.
