Two-time Formula 1 world champion Fernando Alonso has revealed that he took part in several races during the 2022 season with broken bones in his hands.
The Spaniard explained that he picked up his injury after his accident at the end of qualifying in Australia and he was feeling discomfort until the summer break in August.
Alonso revealed this when asked about the condition of his team-mate Lance Stroll, who missed last week’s pre-season test with a right wrist injury.

“In my case, I broke several bones in both hands. By August I had not fully recovered. I was in pain but we love driving.”, he said.
“I don’t know exactly what Lance’s injury is. It’s a personal thing. He will take his own decision. It is good that he is here and will try to drive. This shows how great his desire and motivation is to win with this team.” the Spaniard added.
