In a swift resolution, the FIA has officially closed its investigation into the alleged inappropriate exchange of information between Toto and Susie Wolff, just two days after launching the inquiry.
The probe was initiated following concerns raised by several team managers, as reported by British publication BusinessF1. The specific focus was on Mercedes chief Toto Wolff and F1 academy head Susie Wolff, who, being family, were accused of sharing confidential information. However, the FIA’s examination, conducted in accordance with Formula 1’s code of conduct and conflict of interest policy, concluded that “adequate safeguards are in place to reduce potential conflicts.”
In an official statement released on Thursday, the governing body affirmed that there is “no ongoing investigation into any ethics or disciplinary investigations involving any individual.” The closure of the case signals that the FIA is satisfied with the existing measures in place to maintain the integrity of Formula 1 and mitigate potential conflicts of interest.
Both the Mercedes team and Susie Wolff vehemently deny any allegations of inappropriate conduct. In her statement addressing the matter, Susie Wolff expressed that the accusation “appears to be rooted in threatening and misogynistic behavior and is focused on my marital status rather than my abilities.” This response underscores her commitment to addressing the issue with transparency while highlighting the inappropriate nature of the allegations made against her.
