FIFA has revealed that the US government will decide on the safety of World Championship host cities.
The acknowledgement comes after the USA president Donald Trump revealed FIFA president Gianni Infantino would “very easily” move games from designated host cities if he asked him to do so.
Donald also shared that he will do everything possible to move the 2028 Olympic Games away from LA if he feels that it will not be a safe place to hold them there.
Trump has shared in the past that he thinks about moving games away from dangerous cities such as Seattle and San Francisco.
“Safety and security are the most important things when it comes to matches in the whole world,” FIFA wrote. “That is guaranteed by the governments, and that’s why they will have the final decision when it comes to deciding if a city is safe or not to hold such an important match.”

“We want to keep all of the 16 host cities, but if necessary, we are ready to make changes if the government reveals that there will be safety concerns.”
"Safety and security are the obviously the governments' responsibility, and they decide what is in the best interest for public safety"
