Fiorentina put another black point into Rudi Garcia’s profile as they beat reigning Serie A champion Napoli 3-1 at Diego Armando Maradona. La Viola played one of their best games since the start of the season, while Napoli are continuing to struggle and are already seven points behind first-place AC Milan, heading into the international break.
Fiorentina opened the scoring early on in the 7 minute when Brekalo got the ball close to the goal kick line and fired a great shot into the net from a tight angle.
Napoli got their equalizer right before the half-time break when Osimhen converted a penalty kick.
This goal didn’t put the much needed spark into the home side and La Viola got their second goal. After very good quick attack, the ball got into Bonaventura’s feet inside the penalty box and he sent in inside the right post.
The final blow for Napoli came late in the stoppage time, when Nico Gonzalez received perfect cross and fired it past Meret. With the three points, Fiorentina goes into third place, putting Juventus down to fourth.
