Joe Flacco isn’t disappointed about re-signing with the Bengals on a 1-year contract. But if it were up to him, he would be competing to be QB1 elsewhere in the league.
After being traded to Cincinnati in the past campaign to replace an injured Joe Burrow, the veteran quarterback had 1 of the most productive periods in his career, but franchises decided not to ink him to compete for the starting position. And Flacco isn’t afraid to share that, according to him, the organization made a mistake by not trusting him.
“Without a doubt, I would like to be starting quarterback somewhere,” the 41-year-old QB revealed today. “And I believe the franchises are dumb for not giving me that opportunity.”
Joe added that he still has an ambition to be a starting quarterback, but despite that, he is happy to be back in Cincinnati for the upcoming season.
The veteran QB will earn 6 million dollars, and that sum can go up to 9 million dollars with bonuses. Joe started 6 matches for the Bengals in the past campaign and threw 13 TDs, while also getting 4 picks.
Great question from @Dan_Hoard gave us, in my opinion, the best moment from Joe Flacco’s press conference today.
Flacco’s kids were a big part of this free agency, sometimes even telling him he was asking for too much 🤣🤣
