Ottawa will get a conditional 2024 4th-round selection that would become a 2026 3rd-round selection if Florida wins the Stanley Cup. Sens will also get a 2025 3rd-round selection and are retaining half of the winger’s 5 million dollar salary.
With securing Vladimir, the Floridian NHL franchise has a legitimate top-6 winger whose postseason experience could help the organization win the 1st championship in team history. Since the beginning of the campaign, Tarasenko has notched 17 goals and earned 41 points in 57 matches in what proved to be his only campaign with Ottawa.
In the playoffs, he has scored 44 goals and earned 64 points in 97 matches which features the 11 goals he has netted to help the St. Louis Blues triumph with the Stanley Cup in 2019.
“Tarasenko is a highly skilled and experienced elite winger who provides our team with another dynamic offensive option as we embark on the remainder of our campaign,” Florida general manager Bill Zito shared.
He’s not the top-line, game-breaking sniper he once was, but in the middle of the lineup Tarasenko is still fully capable of being a key contributor.
