Fluminense won against Boca Juniors 2-1 at Maracanã in Rio de Janeiro after an extra time in a match with 2 red cards, and the Brazilian team triumphed with its 1st ever CONMEBOL Libertadores.
Fluminense took the lead in the 36th minute when German Cano scored after Keno’s assist, as that’s how the 1st half ended.

However, Boca Juniors tied the match in the 72nd minute when Luis Advincula netted after Cristian Medina’s assist, and the match entered overtime.
John Kennedy scored a phenomenal goal with a shot outside the box in the 99th minute to give the Brazilian side the lead again after another Keno assist. However, only minutes later, Kennedy was sent off for a 2nd yellow card as he left the pitch to celebrate with the fans in the stands, and from hero, he left his teammates with 1 less man on the pitch.
The Argentinian club defender Frank Fabra also decided to do a stupid thing and received a direct red card in the 105th minute as he slapped the face of Fluminense’s player. Boca also remained with 10 players.
Claudio Rodrigues Gomes had a chance to make it 3-1 for the Brazilian side, but his shot hit the left post. Despite that, his club kept the lead and won the most prestigious South American club football trophy.
The last 5 winners of the Copa Libertadores have been Brazilian sides. It is the first time in the competition’s history that sides from one nation have won it 5 years in a row:
