The Hurricanes goalie will be out for undisclosed amount of time

Frederik Andersen has been ruled out for undisclosed amount of time after tests found a blood clotting issue on Monday.

General manager Don Waddell gave an update on the goaltender’s condition by saying there will be no definite timetable for the return.

Veteran Jaroslav Halak has joined the team on a free agent tryout. Antti Raanta is expected to fill in the void in Andersen’s absence.

Andersen last featured on Thursday and had a very solid performance with 4-1-0. Overall, he has 2.87 goals-against average and .894 save percentage in six starts this season.

The veteran goalie has a total of 547 NHL appearances since making his debut back in 2013 and has played for Anaheim Ducks, Toronto Maple Leafs and Hurricanes.
