Golden State has found its new anchor in the paint, agreeing to a multi-year deal with veteran free agent Al Horford, according to ESPN.
Horford’s agent, Jason Glushon, confirmed that the 39-year-old will head west after spending seven of the past nine seasons in Boston, where he captured an NBA title with the Celtics in 2024.

The five-time All-Star brings both experience and shooting range to the Warriors. He is one of only four big men in NBA history to hit more than 900 three-pointers, joining Rasheed Wallace, Brook Lopez and Clifford Robinson. Over the last three seasons, Horford has knocked down at least 100 triples each year, shooting 41 percent from deep.
He should fit seamlessly alongside Steph Curry, Jimmy Butler III and Draymond Green in Golden State’s starting lineup.
Last season with Boston, Horford started 42 of his 60 appearances, averaging 9.0 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists while connecting on 36.3 percent of his attempts from beyond the arc.
