An enraged Antonio Conte did not held anything back in his vile criticism of his own Tottenham players after their latest match, which saw them throw away a two-goal lead against rock-bottom Southampton.
In a post-match Interview the Italian manager stated that his players are selfish and don’t want to help each other. This type of mentallity in Conte’s eyes is the reason behind Tottenham’s trophy drought.
“Tottenham’s story is this – 20 years there is this owner and they never won something. Why?” Conte said.
“The fault is only for the club, or for every manager that stay here?” said Conte. “I have seen the managers that Tottenham had on the bench. You risk to disrupt the figure of the manager and to protect the other situation in every moment.
“Until now I try to hide the situation but not now because, I repeat, I don’t want to see what I have seen today because this is unacceptable and also unacceptable for the fans.”
Antonio Conte was absolutely furious: “I don’t want to hide it anymore — here is always the same”. 🚨⚪️ #THFC

Ever since club owner Daniel Levy took over the club in 2001, Spurs have managed to win only one trophy – the League Cup success back in 2008.
In that period the team changed 11 managers, with three of them coming after the infamous sacking of Mouricio Pochetino back in 2019, only six months after the Argentinian coach had led them to their first Champions League final.
Conte’s job is under serious fire after Spurs dropped out of the Champions League against AC Milan and were shockingly eliminated in the FA Cup by Championship side Sheffield United.
Many believe that Conte’s latest rant would surely cost him his position as head-coach, with pundit and ex-Liverpool defender Jamie Garagher suggesting that the criticism was explicit plea addressed at the club to give him the sack and put him out of his misery.
