Galatasaray defeated Liverpool 1-0 in Istanbul and secured a 1-goal lead before the 2nd leg at Anfield in the tie from the 1/8 finals of the UCL. That was the Turkish club 2nd win against an EPL club in the current campaign.
The Reds started the match better and dominated the opening minutes, forcing a lot of errors from the home team, but things changed after Mario Lemina scored in the 7th minute as Victor Osimhen provided the assist.

Osimhen had a fantastic opportunity to double the lead of his team only a few minutes later, but his header didn’t find the net.
In the 2nd half, Victor finally scored, but his goal was disallowed for being offside, and the home team’s lead remained only a single goal.
The Reds also saw a goal being disallowed as Konate scored with a hand after a corner, and after a VAR review, Galatasaray celebrated as their lead remained.
All will be decided next week at Anfield as Liverpool must overcome 1 goal deficit to eliminate Galatasaray and advance to the ¼ finals of the Champions League.
