Third-seeded Coco Gauff (USA) has advanced to the fourth round of the women’s hard court tennis tournament in Miami.
Gauff defeated French Oceane Dodin 6-4, 6-0 in just 65 minutes in the third round.
Dodin took a 4-2 lead in the first set, but Coco Gauff responded with a streak of 10 consecutive games. She turned it around to win the first set 6-4 and then clinched the second set 6-0.
The next opponent for the American will be the winner of the match between Naomi Osaka (Japan) and qualifier Caroline Garcia (France), who eliminated Victoria Tomova.
Also advancing to the fourth round is the 20th-seeded American Emma Navarro, who defeated 12th-seeded Jasmine Paolini of Italy 6-2, 3-6, 6-0. Navarro awaits the winner of the match between Jessica Pegula (USA) and Leylah Fernandez (Canada).
Romanian Sorana Cirstea, seeded 19th and a semifinalist in 2023, ousted 10th-seeded Daria Kasatkina (Russia) 7-5, 6-2. Cirstea will face Danielle Collins (USA) or Elina Avanesyan (Russia) in the fourth round.
