General Motors will supply powertrains to Andretti-Cadillac from the 2028 season if the American team succeeds to enter Formula 1. The bid of Michael Andretti and Cadillac was approved by the FIA, but now the new team must negotiate the “financial conditions” for its entry into the sport.
Michael Andretti wants the new team to enter Formula 1 for the 2025 season, but for that to happen, negotiations with Formula 1 need to be completed successfully and very quickly. Today, General Motors officially announced that the company has signed up as a powertrain supplier in Formula 1 from the start of the 2028 season.

The inclusion of GM in the group of engine suppliers to Formula 1 will increase their number to seven, as the list already includes Ferrari, Mercedes, Honda, Audi, Renault and Red Bull-Ford.
