The DFB-Team had a very prestigious victory vs. France in the first game without Hansi Flick at the helm.

Germany played its 1st match after the sacking of Hansi Flick, who was dismissed after Japan defeated them 4-1 a few days ago. Rudi Voller led the team as he was named DFB-Team interim head coach, and with him, Germany defeated France 2-1 at Signal Iduna Park in Dortmund.

Germany scored the 1st goal as the veteran Thomas Muller netted the ball into the net in the 4th minute after Benjamin Henrichs’ assist.

Sane doubled the lead for the home team in the 87th minute after Kai Havertz’s assist. However, only 2 minutes later, France received a penalty, which Antoine Griezmann converted to make it 2-1. The referee gave 3 minutes additional time, which was not enough for France to score and tie the clash.

The main focus in front of the new manager of Germany will be to prepare the team for the upcoming Euro 2024, which the country hosts, and the expectations are only for the trophy at home.

France is in 1st place in Group B with 15 points from 5 matches and almost secured their place for the Euro next year.
