4-3 victory increased their lead in the division over Vancouver

Vegas Golden Knights suffered their first defeat of the season in NHL, losing 3-4 after overtime to the Chicago Blackhawks, but on Saturday they returned to the winning way.

Vegas’ success against the Los Angeles Kings did not come easy, with both teams needing penalties to decide the winner of the first matchup of the season. In the end, the Knights won 4:3.

The visitors from Sin City had to overturn a two-goal deficit before going to penalties after Alex Laferriere and Trevor Lewis gave the Kings a 2-0 lead five minutes into the second half. Three Vegas goals by Michael Amadio, William Carrier and Marco Stone turned the score around before Drew Doughty tied the score with 63 seconds left in regulation to send the game into overtime.

In the additional 5 minutes, the two teams could not score and that’s how it came to penalties. There, only Jack Eichel was able to score and bring victory to his team.

With the victory, Vegas increased its lead at the top of the division with 17 points – 6 over the Vancouver Canucks.
