The victory means Vegas take a huge step towards clinching the Pacific Division and ensuring a top seed in the Western Conference.
Charlie Stephenson had a goal and an assist, as did Phil Kessel and Ivan Barbashev. Jonatan Marchessault and Nicolas Roy were the other two scorers for the Golden Knights. Goaltender Laurent Brossoit made 30 saves, as he extended his unbeaten record in regulation time this season.
“I thought we were on our toes and we were ready to play,” Knights coach Bruce Cassidy said.
“I thought our forecheck was outstanding. We weren’t giving up odd-man rushes or numbers coming at us because of that. Our guys were real dedicated to that game plan tonight.”
Anze Kopiter and Vladislav Gavrikov scored in a night to forget for the Kings.
They will be looking to improve on their fortune against Colorado on Saturday, while Golden Knights travel to Dallas also on Saturday.
