Marchessault broke the tie in the shootout.

Jonathan Marchessault secured the Vegas Golden Knights’ 3-2 triumph against the Dallas Stars in a Western Conference final rematch at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, NV.

Marchessault gave the Golden Knights (4-0) a 2-1 lead in the penalties after teammate Shea Theodore and Dallas’ Matt Duchene netted. Stars had an opportunity to extend the penalties, but Roope Hintz’s strike ended up in the crossbar.

“I don’t know that I’ve ever triumphed in a shootout without making a save,” Vegas goaltender Adin Hill claimed after the victory.

Kaedan Korczak and William Karlsson finished each with a goal and an assist for Vegas, and Adin made 24 saves. Craig Smith and Joe Pavelski notched for the Stars, and Jake Oettinger stopped 32 shots.

This was the 1st clash between the 2 organizations since Vegas eliminated Dallas in 6 matches to reach the Stanley Cup Final, where the Golden Knights won it.

Dallas will face away from home Anaheim on Thursday, while Vegas will visit Winnipeg on the same day.
