The Warriors’ boss contract was set to expire at the end of the current campaign, and his 17.5 million dollar extension takes him through the 2025-26 season. The new contract aligns him with the 2 years left of superstar Steph Curry.
San Antonio Spurs manager Gregg Popovich makes more per year, but he is also the president of the franchise. Miami Heat manager Erik Spoelstra inked an 8-year extension that would see him earn 15 million dollars per campaign.
The contract finishes months of negotiations between the Warriors GM Mike Dunleavy Jr. and Kerr’s agents, keeping him at the Bay for the upcoming seasons.
“I believe it is fantastic,” Golden State forward Draymond Green shared of his head coach extension.
Draymond added that he never doubted that the team would offer Steve a new contract.
