The Golden State Warriors are waiving Chris Paul, who had Sunday’s deadline to guarantee his 30 million dollar deal for this campaign.
The Warriors have waived guard Chris Paul.
Chris Paul averaged 9.2 points, 6.8 assists, 3.9 rebounds and 1.2 steals in 26.4 minutes over 58 games with Golden State last season. He was originally acquired by the Warriors via trade with Washington on July 6, 2023. pic.twitter.com/x5WQvsj220

The guard now becomes an unrestricted free agent.
Golden State pushed back Chris’ guarantee date to right ahead of free agency as they searched for ways to use his deal in a trade, but were unable to do so.
The guard came off the bench for the 1st time in his Hall of Fame career in the past campaign, accepting a reduced role with Golden State after he became part of the Dubs after a trade involving Jordan Poole a year ago.
Paul played great in his 19th campaign in the league, averaging almost 10 points and 7 assists in almost 27 minutes on the court as he inspired the team from the bench.
The guard, who turned 39 two months ago, ranks as the 3rd oldest basketballer in the league behind LeBron and Tucker. Chris will become just the 11th basketballer in the league history to compete at least 20 campaigns in the upcoming season.
