Memphis Grizzlies’ center Steven Adams will be out of action for least four weeks, the team announced.
The New Zealander is nursing an injury to his right knee and had stem cell injections days ago to speed up the recovery of the ACL. The NBA regular season ends on April 9, which means the 29-year-old basketball player will be able to return to action for start of the playoffs, if everything with the treatment goes to plan.
Adams has not played since Jan. 23, when he logged 33 minutes in Memphis’ 110-112 loss to the Phoenix Suns. This season, he is averaging 8.6 points, 11.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.1 blocks per game.
The Grizzlies announced Steven Adams got a stem cell injection in his injured knee and will be re-evaluated in four weeks — meaning he’ll miss the remainder of the regular season, at minimum.
