The Sky Blues head coach, Pep Guardiola, claims his club cannot blame bad luck for their failure to close matches after they lost more points from a winning position in today’s 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace.
The reigning champions had a 2-0 lead with only 15 minutes remaining but failed to win the 3 points after Jean-Philippe Mateta’s breakaway goal for 2-1 and Michael Olise’s converted penalty in the extra time as Palace completed a shocking comeback.

It is the 4th time in the last 6 EPL games that the Sky Blues have been held after leading late on, leaving them 3 points from the 1st place as the leaders, Liverpool, have a match in hand.
“It’s not misfortune, it’s deserved,” Pep admitted. “We gave away 2 points, but if you give away a penalty, you deserve not to win.”
Manchester City have failed to win in three consecutive Premier League home games for the first time since Pep Guardiola’s first season in charge in December 2016.
