Pep Guardiola shared that Manchester City players can “imagine” the treble after eliminating Real Madrid in the Champions League ½ finals and advancing to the final match.
The Sky Blues beat the Royal Club 4-0 at home and, with a 5-1 score from both games, need to win only 1 more match in the Premier League, FA Cup, and Champions League to get the trophies in these tournaments.
His team can match Manchester United’s treble in 1999 as the Red Devils remain the only English club that won the treble.
“Let’s get the 1st two trophies first,” Pep shared when asked about his club’s chance of winning the treble. “In the league, we almost secured the title. We know we need one more match, and I would say we play against our neighbors [the Red Devils] and vs. an Italian club [Inter] in the finals. The campaign is fantastic; now we have to lift it.”
Pep Guardiola on a treble: “Let me win the first two. The #PL, we’re close. We play against our neighbours and an Italian team in the finals. We’re there, the players can think about it, visualise it. They have the feeling, we’re three games away…” [via @MichaelPlant82]
