"We have met a million times already - in Dortmund and here", he said

Manchester City manager Josep Guardiola has spoken about his great rivalry with Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp.

The two have met a total of 29 times during their coaching careers to date, with the German winning 11 games against the Spaniard’s 10. Accordingly, Klopp is the coach Guardiola has lost to the most times in his career, and Pep is the manager with the most wins against the German.

Asked who his biggest rival is at coaching level, Guardiola replied: “Jurgen Klopp. Firstly, we have met a million times already – in Dortmund and here. Second, because he has beaten me many times and it is always a challenge to face each other again and again. I respect him a lot because of the way his teams play.”

“So it was in Dortmund, Mainz and now in Liverpool. The style is very attractive. We respect each other. Of course we have arguments and I don’t like to lose to him, but he is my biggest rival because of how many times we have met so far, how difficult it is always and what a pleasure it is when we beat them.”, Pep said.
