Manchester City’s head coach admitted that he is “delighted” captain Kevin De Bruyne is healthy and played again after being out injured in the past 5 months; the Belgium midfielder had an assist in his 1st match back on the pitch in the 5-0 victory against Huddersfield today in the FA Cup.
It took the Belgium superstar just 17 minutes to assist Jérémy Doku as De Bruyne entered the pitch from the bench in the 2nd half.
It was the Sky Blues captain’s 1st match since September after undergoing surgery to correct a hamstring problem.
“Kevin played really good minutes,” Pep shared. “De Bruyne needs to accumulate training sessions more than matches. We are incredibly happy about his return to the pitch. He helps to win matches, and few have that impact worldwide. Triumph in matches; De Bruyne, [Erling] Haaland, these footballers win matches.”
“It’s so important to have him back!” 🤝
