Manchester City manager Josep Guardiola described the champions’ derby with Liverpool as one of the best performances by the Citizens since he is in charge of the team.
City trailed 0-1, but then not only did a complete turnaround, but completely outplayed their opponents after the break and deservedly congratulated themselves on win.
It was Guardiola’s 100th Premier League home win as he overtook Arsene Wenger to become the manager to reach the mark in the fewest matches.
“A perfect performance from the first to the 93rd minute. Even when we conceded the goal, we played very well. Of course, they are always very dangerous in the transitions between the different phases, but we played well in all areas. It was one of our best performances in those seven years. The players knew they weren’t playing badly when we were 0-1 down. We adjusted things a bit at the break. We were lucky with the second goal but we played very solidly throughout.”, he said.
