Guardiola also won the Premier League manager of the year after leading his team to third consecutive title.
It is the Spaniard’s third LMA trophy, tying him up with David Moyes in 2nd place and trailing only to Sir Alex Ferguson, who has five in total.
“It’s an incredible honour to get his trophy. We are in the best league in the world and I promise you we will be there next season.” Guardiola commented.
The 52-year-old competed with Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta, Roberto Zerbi from Brighton, Eddie Howe from Newcastle, Vincent Kompany from Burnley and Plymouth’s Steven Schumacher, who were selected in the shortlist.
