The Premier League champions were leading 2-0 before Rodri received his red card in an altercation with Morgan Gibbs-White in the 1st minute of the 2nd half.
The Spain international put his hands around the neck of the Nottingham forward and was shown the red card, leaving his teammates to play with a man down for almost 45 minutes.
Reporters asked Pep if he was unhappy with Rodri and the Man. City manager answered that he is.
“I hope Rodri will learn his lesson. The match was perfect for 35 minutes, and after that, it became a little bit chaotic. That wasn’t our responsibility, I must add that. But my player had to control himself and his emotions. Because I can get a yellow card, but Rodri can’t get a yellow card, I’m not on the pitch.”
