Manchester City are ready to chase more glory and honors in the new season after winning a historic treble last season, their manager Pep Guardiola said.
“I don’t know how consistent we will be after what we achieved. However, I will tell the team not to forget what we won, but to try to do it again – step by step,” the Spanish specialist told the media ahead of City’s first summer friendly against Yokohama F Marinos in Tokyo. “We are trying to find our style, our rhythm and remember what kind of team we are,” added Guardiola.
Guardiola has revealed he has spoken to Kyle Walker about his future. The defender has an offer from Bayern (Munich). “I think a lot of things will happen. I want the best for my players. I talked to Kyle, we’ll see what happens. I can’t tell you anything because he’s still thinking things over,” he shared.
The Citizens play Bayern Munich in Tokyo on Wednesday before meeting Atletico Madrid in Seoul. Manchester City will open the 2023-24 season against last season’s runners-up Arsenal on August 6 in a Community Shield clash. After that, the English team will try to win the European Super Cup and the Club World Cup.
