The national team was booed off after the goalless draw in their final group match against Slovenia and some empty cups were thrown at the manager as he applauded fans.
The result was enough for Southgate’s squad to top the group and they will face Slovakia in the 1/8 finals at the end of the weekend.
The Eagles defender Guehi was handed his 1st senior England call-up by the head coach in March 2022 and has gone on to play 14 matches for the Three Lions.
Marc has been Gareth’s 1st-choice centre-back alongside John Stones at the tournament.
“Southgate has been fantastic for our national team. If you look at his record, you will see it for yourself,” 23-year-old defender claimed.
