2-time Grand Slam winner Simona Halep has been banned for 4 years for 2 isolated anti-doping violations.

The Romanian ex-Wimbledon and French Open champ has been 1st suspended since October last year after testing positive for a forbidden blood booster during the U.S. Open in 2022.
Simona was accused of 2nd doping offense in May this year for irregularities in her Athlete Biological Passport. The accusation was “separate and in addition to” the active suspicion.
During that period, Halep claimed on social media that she is living her worst nightmare after being suspended for anti-doping violations.
Last month, the U.S. Tennis Association shared that the Romanian tennis player “was automatically withdrawn” when he was drawn for the New York Grand Slam tournament occurred. Halep is ineligible to play or be present at any sanctioned tournaments at the time of the provisional suspension.
