Lewis shared that he had the pace to challenge Max at the Dutch Grand Prix.

Lewis Hamilton claims that he had the race pace to be competitive with Max Verstappen at the Dutch GP but missed his opportunity due to a poor qualifying session and wrong strategy calls.

Britain finished 6th at the Formula 1 race in the Netherlands despite being in the last place in the 1st laps when his car pit wall was slow to trigger a switch to wet weather tires.

In the effort to go ahead, Lewis overtook the McLaren of Lando Norris and almost overcame the Ferrari of Carlos Sainz in the last laps of the competition.

“During the Dutch GP, I had the pace; in those conditions, if we made the right strategy, I could have challenged the top 2,” Hamilton shared with the media. “We could even compete with Verstappen for the 1st place, particularly when we got to the dry pace-wise we weren’t so far behind.
