Lewis Hamilton delivered a standout performance in Saturday’s third and final practice session for the Canadian Grand Prix, setting the fastest time and edging out Red Bull’s Max Verstappen and his Mercedes teammate George Russell. This session took place under significantly improved weather conditions compared to the rain-hit sessions on Friday.
After two practice sessions on Friday were affected by rain, the final practice session saw bright and warm weather, allowing drivers to run on slick tires for the first time during the event. Despite the clear conditions for the practice session, the forecast predicts further rain showers, which could affect both the qualifying session later on Saturday and the race on Sunday.

Max Verstappen, who faced technical issues on Friday that limited his running in the second practice session, was quick to get back on track during the final practice. The Dutchman managed to avoid a potential mishap at the final chicane early in the session. This performance from Hamilton, coupled with the issues Verstappen faced, adds an interesting dynamic to the buildup to the race.
Ferrari showed lack of pace ahead of qualifying, as Leclerc stated on team radio that they are “Extremely slow”. The Monaco Grand Prix winner finished 10th, while Carlos Sainz – 12th.
